A moneyline bet involves betting on which team will win, regardless of the point spread they win by.
This is one of the simplest and easiest wagers to place in sports betting, as you’re just focusing on the end result of a particular matchup.
Moneyline bets are simple and easy to understand. This is because the favorite always has a minus sign in front of moneyline odds, while the underdog has a plus sign in front of their odds.
For example, let’s say you want to place a $100 moneyline bet on the Lakers (-120) vs. the Knicks (+150).
If you bet on the Lakers, you stand to win $180, for a profit of $80. If you were to bet on the Knicks and they win, you would win a total of $250, and a profit of $150.
